Apply here if you’re an African American high school student or of African descent and receive a $25 gift card just for applying. What are you applying for? The NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) is a year-long achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students. ACT-SO includes 33 competitions in STEM, humanities, business, and performing, visual and culinary arts. Almost 300,000 young people have participated from the program since its inception.  Meetings will take place monthly and there’s no cost to participate.

Join ACT-SO to acquire skills in artistic, scientific and academic disciplines. Compete in regional and national contests (all travel expenses paid for if you make it to nationals and there’s no fee to participate). What is ACT-SO? Check out the FAQs to learn more or go to www.naacpvancouverwa.org.

Not sure yet? Just come to the FREE lunch on Saturday, November 6th and check it out. You must register to attend.  Email actso@naacpvancouverwa.org.
