Skyview High School teacher Kim Hansen recently received an Aspirations in Computing Educator Award. The award, from the Oregon/Southwest Washington affiliate of the National Center for Women in Technology, “recognizes educators who have demonstrated a commitment to encouraging young womxn’s computing interest.”

Hansen teaches AP computer science and python coding classes in the school’s Science, Math and Technology Magnet Program, of which she’s been a part since 1997. She also has mentored students in developing award-winning mobile apps.

In addition, Vancouver students from three schools earned honors in the Northwest region’s Aspirations in Computing awards program.
