This year Skyview's Science, Math and Technology magnet is introducing "Introduction to Engineering," the first course in four-course sequence to help prepare young people for the technical careers of the future. Although the emphasis is on engineering, the critical thinking and analytical skills introduced as part of the design process will assist any student interested in a science or technology related career.
I will also teach one section of the freshman course, "Advanced Technology." This course serves as a foundation fordeveloping communication skills for the business world with an emphasis on keyboarding, writing for business audiences, presentation and team building skills.
The planned calendar for the year is here. Note that the calendar is a dynamic tool that adapts based on developments in the classroom. The goal is to cover all the topics in the calendar for each class.
