Policy
Recipe for Success
1. Respect
other people’s feelings, ideas, differences, and property.
2. Allow fellow students to learn and work
without distractions.
3. Be responsible in
your work (be on task, turn in work on time, etc.).
4. Be punctual and prepared (bring materials).
Tardy Policy
Students
who are tardy more than three times a semester will be assigned to lunch
detention or after school detention and a phone call will be placed to their
parent or guardian. Students who are tardy more than five times a semester will
be referred to an administrator.
Attendance-Truancies
If
a student is deemed truant, he/she may not be permitted to make up missed
assignments and/or graded activities for the time period of the truancy. The student will receive a failing grade for
assignments and/or graded activities. At
three truancies in a semester the student’s associate principal will be
notified by the teacher. Parents will be
contacted and the student may be placed on a probationary contract. Consequences of violating this contract may
include: detention,
Late Work
German:
1. Completed homework will be noted each
day. Corrections to the homework should
be made in class during the discussion.
2. On Fridays (or, if the student prefers,
daily) late homework will be collected and graded. Late
homework receives a lower grade.
3. Students have the opportunity to re-take
chapter tests within a week. In this
case, grades will be adjusted, but not to 100%.
AP English Language & Composition
1. Late work will not be accepted normally;
however, on a case-by-case basis, exceptions may be made.
General Classroom Rules: see tardy policy for actions
1. Cell phones and I-pods are to be kept in
backpacks at all times, unless permission is given by the teacher.
2.
No food unless it is part of a curricular activity; water may be carried in
clear plastic containers. No exceptions.
3. No gum.
