go ready, fcrc, back to school

It’s time to get ready to go back to school! To help students and families prepare, Vancouver Public Schools is hosting its fourth annual back-to-school event.

Go Ready! Back-to-School-Readiness Festival
Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017
10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Hudson’s Bay High School
Google map: 1601 E. McLoughlin Blvd.
This event is free and open to all VPS students and their families.

The festival will feature food; entertainment; family-friendly activities; and information about early learning, employment, counseling, health care, housing and other resources.

Free immunizations, haircuts and gently used clothing also will be available, and more than 75 district partners from the community will provide services and information.

Families will be able to register children for school, get information about bus routes, apply for free or reduced-price lunch, learn about special education services and early childhood screenings for developmental delays, find VPS employment opportunities and meet representatives from the district’s Family-Community Resource Centers and homeless liaison.

Go Ready is organized by the district’s network of Family-Community Resource Centers, which provides support for families all school year long. The event is designed to serve VPS students and families who qualify for free or reduced-price meals.
