Communication Skills Using Digital Photography

Course Description: This is a course on combining digital & film photography with writing skills to create more effective communications. Students will develop real life publishing projects, such as magazines, brochures, web sites and power point presentations. Fundamentals of communicating in a multimedia environment will be covered, including basic camera operations, composition, lighting, angle and the principles of design, introduction to PhotoShop, scanning, and writing for visual media. Students will study the history of modern mass media, such as film, t.v., the internet, books and magazines and hone their ability to analyze media messages.
