Example: "Here is a liquid as colorless as water, almost tasteless, quite imperceptible in coffee, milk, wine or any other beverage" (Collier 645).

2. Vexation, noun

or annoyance

Example: Her vexation grew as time after time her students were disruptive during her presentation.

3. Pauper, noun

A poor person, especially one who depends on public charity

Example: The pauper had no money to buy food.

4. Adulation, noun

Excessive praise or flattery

Example: He got so much adulation for his talent that he became conceited.

5. Exorbitant, adj.

much too high, excessive

Example: The $100.00 price for that book is exorbitant!

6. Irony, noun

1 An expression signifying the opposite, typically for humorous effect.

2 A state of affairs that appears perversely contrary to what one expects.
