Bonus Points/Extra Credit in Freshman English
Participation points are required. Additional possible extra credit opportunities are listed on Dr. Questad's Web Page and/or Assignment Log.

Computer Applications Grading Weights
Your grade will be weighted as follows: Daily Work 80% ~ Professionalism 20%

Daily Work in Computer Applications
This grade is based on the total number of daily assignments completed. Assignments will be given daily. Some may be due at the end of class or later. Students will be asked to save all work for possible submission at a later date. Due dates for all work will be listed on the assignment log. Daily work encompasses all class work, tests, quizzes, projects, and keyboarding technique.

Professionalism in Computer Applications
This 20% of the grade is based on a students professional attitude in class. There are ten professional points possible per week, two per day. Students will receive the full amount of points each week as they follow the rules and procedures for the classroom. (See attached rules and Procedures) Deduction of professional point(s) occur when rules and procedures are not followed.

Performance Reports
Grade reports with assignments and their respective grades will be distributed to students about 3 times a quarter. Dr. Questad's grades reflect total points and Mrs. Schmidt's reflect specific weights. They are required returned with parent signatures for student credit.

Late Work
No late work is accepted except for students on a 174, 504 or IEP contract stipulating a late work acceptance policy.

Absences
While students are not graded for attendance, many grades are related to in-class participation to show mastery of objective and are difficult to make up. Students will be expected to make up all absences through accessing Dr. Questad's web page when absent or staying after school upon return and completing work as required following make-up (below) policy.

dqexp.htmlMake-up for Excused Absences: A correctly completed Late Pass must be stapled to each late assignment.
If a student is absent, please call the office with a request for missing work if hand-outs were not available on Mrs. Schmidt's or Dr. Questad's webpages. Assignment clarification will also be available via email request: bquestad@vansd.org or lschmidt@vansd.org. Work from absence is due within 24 hours of return from a one-day absence, 48 from a 2-day, etc.

Technology Requirement
All assigned work must be word processed unless otherwise instructed. If a student does not have a computer at home or has a problem with Skyview/home computer compatibility, an appointment may be made with Dr. Questad or Mrs. Schmidt to work in computer lab before or after school, in the evening or on a weekend.
