THE RULES
1. Students are divided into competing teams
The classroom is physically set up into 3 neighborhoods (U shaped seating arrangement).
Various team challenges are set each week. Each team supplies respective readers,
i.e. the Capulets supply a Juliet, Nurse, etc. and receive points for expressive reading.
2. Frequent team Challenges* simulate the conflicts in Verona
which are point opportunities (including citizenship) for Extra Credit
Montagues assign and assume all Montague parts, sas do Capulets and Peacemakers
Citizenship disruptions as well as bathroom/water privileges are regarded as town problems and results in "traffic tickets" (demerits from Extra Credit Points)
3. Each team can win points and lose points.
Extra points go to entire class with highest class total at the end.
4. When the Romeo and Juliet unit is over
the winning team-members will have their points divided by 5 and each member on the team will get that number of points.
The second place total will be divided by 7, and third place by 10.
TOTALS ARE CALCULATED EACH WEEKEND
