MUN and DEBATE GROUP OBJECTIVE: 
As many students as possible collaborate and contribute to make a dynamic and provocative political forum on “America’s New War” where opinions, questions and feelings are respected  and aired.

                Welcome to panel, students, teachers, those watching this on intra-tv and press. Acknowledgement of Debate Class and MUN collaboration in planning this forum. 

8:10-8:17                 Introduction of Panel

a)       Based upon your background and experience, what is one of the critical issues that America must face in the coming days, weeks and months?

b)       If you were asked to advise President Bush about an issue of national policy arising out of the recent national tragedy, what issue would you choose and what advice would you give?

c)       The most asked question by Skyview students:  Will there be a draft?

8:28                                         Mr. Larson introduces procedures and the role Chris Whitling and the other MUN and Debate students will play, including Shanel Curtis and Devin Cusack at the computer.

8:30-9:45                                 Begin with reading of student question by Megan Dow.  Mr. Larson et. al. leads us forth from there.

[9:30]                                      Baird’s greeter helps him leave discreetly, giving him Skyview cup and thank you when he is off the stage.

9:45                                         Opportunity for closing remarks by the panelists – one minute

9:52                                         Mr. Larson may begin asking what we got out of forum today and ask for audience responses.

Mr. Larson thanks MUN and Debate, reminds students that they are welcome to MUN meetings, the next one being next Thursday after school in the 500 wing.

Closing summary to students of what we learned here and impressing upon them the need for ethnic sensitivity and support at this time.

GREETERS

a)      Make sure panel tables are equipped with Kleenex, garbage cans, water and cups

b)      Greet in office (check into first period be at south door at 7:30)

Let guest know you are his contact person and that you will be sitting in the front row to help out with anything –emergency, cell phone call, etc.  Let him know we have a cell phone available for an emergency.

c)      Take to auditorium.  Show bathroom in hall on the way.
Get panelist’s address if we don’t have it already (for purposes of official thank-you note).

d)      Water should be at table.  Pour water if needed.  Ask if you can get some coffee for him.

e)      Take coat, if needed and figure out where to put it (ask Mr. Blackton or figure out a backstage place).  Have it ready when your person needs to leave.

f)        At close go on stage and give panelist Skyview cup and explain that it’s a thank-you gift.  Cookies and coffee may be available backstage.  Escort panelist from building, opening doors to outside.  Thank panelist.
