Zeus - God of thunder. Principal god of the panthenon. Ultimate ruler of heaven and Earth and of all gods and humankind. Youngest son of Titan, Cronus.
Hera - Wife and sister of Zeus. Goddess of Marriage, Women and Childbirth. Daughter of Cronus and Rhea. Queen of the Olympian Gods.

Amphitrite - goddess of the sea. Wife of Poseidon and one of the Nereids. Sister of Thetis.
Aphrodite - Beautiful daughter of Zeus and Dione. Faithless wife of Hephaestus, lover to many including shepherd Adonis and Ares. Mother of Eros
Apollo - Twin brother of Artemis, son of Zeus and Leto, father of Asclepius and Linus. Wore laurel wreath.
Ares - God of war. Son of Zeus and brother of Eris. Lover of Aphrodite by who he was father of many children.
Artemis - Twin sister of Apollo. Goddess of the hunt. Identified with moon-goddess Selene.
Athena - Patrol goddess of Athens. Born of, and favourite child of Zeus.
Demeter - Goddess of agriculture. Daughter of Cronus and Rhea. Mother of Persephone.
Dionysus - God of fertility, ritual dance and mysticism. Inventer of wine making. Son of Zeus and Semele.
Enyo - Goddess of war and waster of cities.
Eris - Goddess of discord. Sister of war god Ares. Initiated events which led to the Trojan War by tossing an apple marked "for the fairest" among the gods.
Eros - Son of Aphrodite. Caused love with a shot of a gold-tipped arrow.
Leto - Daughter of the Titans, Coeus and Phoebe. Mother of Artemis and Apollo by Zeus.
Hades - Also known as Pluto. The god of the underworld. Ruler over the souls of the dead with his wife Persephone. The underworld itself later became known as Hades.
Hecate - Terrifying goddess of the underworld. Attendant of Persephone. Only descendent of the Titans to retain her powers after their defeat by Zeus.
Helios - God of the Sun. Chief god of Rhodes which he requested after being forgotten when Zeus divided the Earth among the gods.
Hephaestus - Son of Hera. God of fire, patron of craftsmen. Made armour for Achilles. Husband of Aphrodite dispite bing ugly and lame.
Hermes - Son of Zeus and Maia. Protector of travellers and flocks. Messenger of Zeus.
Hestia - Virgin goddess of the hearth. Refused marriage with Poseidon and Apollo. Never took sides in disputes or participated in wars.
Persephone - Queen of the underworld
Poseidon - God of the sea and earthquakes. Powerful and violent god armed with a trident. Married to Amphitrite, granddaughter of Oceanus, also loved medusa while she was still a beautiful woman. After her death, Pegasus sprang from Medusa's blood becoming Poseidon's issue.
Selene - Goddess of the Moon. Identified with Artemis and Hecate.
Semele - Beautiful daughter of Cadmus who won the love of Zeus. As revenge, Hera made her see Zeus in his divine form and she was consumed by lightning.
Thetis - Mother of Achilles, beloved by Zeus and Poseidon, but neither would marry her because an oracle had decreed that their offspring would be more powerful than its father.

Cronus - Youngest of the Titans. Swallowed his children so they couldn't take his power. Sixth child, Zeus was hidden from him by Rhea. When older Zeus gave Cronus an emetic, causing him to regurgitate his other children - Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades and Poseidon.
Rhea - Daughter of Uranus and Gaea. Goddess of the Earth after Gaea. Parent of the original gods of Olympus with Cronis

Achilles - The strongest and fastest of the Greek heroes in the Trojan War. Son of Thetis, he was dipped in the river Styx which divided Earth and underworld to make him invulnerable. Only his heel by which we was held could be pierced by a weapon.
Adonis - A heandsome shepherd loved by Aphrodite and Persephone. When he was killed by a wild boar, Aphrodite pleased with Zeus to restore him to her, but Zeus decided they should share him for eternity.
Ariadne - Daughter of Minos, King of Crete. Fell in love with Theseus and helped him defeat the Minotaur and escape the labyrinth. Abandoned by Theseus, later married Dionysus.

The Titans were the 12 children of Uranus (Heaven) and Gaea (Earth). Cronus became the supreme ruler by killing his father and then married his sister Rhea.
