SUBJECT OF RESOLUTION: Technology Assistance
SUBMITTED TO: Economic and Humanitarian Committees 3 and 4
SUBMITTED BY: Tunisia
AWARE of the fact that developing countries do not have the computer technology or training available to support advanced economic growth,
HAVING CONSIDERED that the prices of computer technology have been rapidly decreasing since the invention of the computer,
GUIDED BY the fact that countries with advanced computer technology have grown and advanced at an exponential rate in the last ten years,
CONVINCED that the efficiency and economic development of developing countries could benefit from computer hardware, software and training,
FULLY BELIEVING that the world economic payoff, not only from a more
stable world economy, but also from an increase in worldwide trading partners,
would far outweigh the initial cost,
REQUESTS that the UN provide computer technology, training and support to developing countries as part of a no-payback support package.
