SUBJECT OF RESOLUTION: Legalization of Marijuana/Hashish

HAVING STUDIED attempts to eliminate narcotics problems,

OBSERVING that The Netherlands has fewer drug-related problems than any other nation, and

KEEPING IN MIND that drug-related incidents are low in The Netherlands because, once legalized, there is no market for "illegal" drugs which greatly reduces crime, and

BEARING IN MIND The Netherlands advises a limit be put on drug consumption as there is for alcohol,

1.RECOMMENDS that the members of the United Nations eliminate marijuana from its "War on Drugs" and create establishments for the sole purpose of distributing and using marijuana and its derivative products.
