SUBJECT OF RESOLUTION: Embargo on Cuba

RECOGNIZING that the United States of America has held a trade embargo against Cuba since 1962,

AFFIRMING that the UN is intent on encouraging friendly relations among nations as stated in Chapter 1 of the UN Charter,

SEEKING that the UN reinforce and uphold the principles of equality and respect upon which the UN was established,

KEEPING IN MIND that the embargo unfairly punishes Cuba for exercising decisions related to its UN Charter-protected sovereign rights,

1. CONGRATULATES all countries in compliance with the values of the Charter of the United Nations;

2. REQUESTS that the United States end its embargo on Cuba.
