Economic Speech Presentation Assignment
Requirements
1. Hook
2. Opening: includes subject and thesis statement (what you plan to prove)
3. Body: proves your thesis with examples, facts and arguments
4. Conclusion: reiterates your thesis
5. Your oral presentation must last a minimum of 3 minutes
Options
1. Compare and contrast the two economic simulations. Create a thesis related to what you learned from them.
2. Construct a web chart that depicts the interrelationships among the actors, institutions, and the conditions involved in the peanut role play. Talk about the interdependence of the global food system and the political, economic and social interconnections that exist between individuals in the US and the developing world.
3. Should goods and resources be more equitably distributed? Substantiate your opinion. If you think they should, include at least one way to accomplish this. If you think they shouldn't, include at least one way the status quo should be maintained.
4. Find magazine and/or newspaper articles (on the Internet or hardcopy) about the global distribution of goods and resources, wealth and poverty and report on them.
5. Create a role play based on your experiences in the simulation, with you taking all of the parts.
