Snow Make-up Days
The School Board has approved the following days as make-up days for the four days lost during the past two weeks:
· Wednesday, January 31, 2007, Semester Break · Friday, February 16, 2007, President’s Day Weekend · Thursday, June 21, 2007, End of Year · Friday, June 22, 2007, End of Year
Each of these days was previously identified as potential make-up days in the school calendar for 2006-07.
As part of the rescheduling, semester break is changed from January 31, 2007, previously a non-student day, to Friday, February 2, 2007, which is and will remain a scheduled attendance day. High school teachers who would normally have worked the administrative essential day on January 31, 2007, will be able to work the additional time necessary for semester transition at their convenience and in a timeframe that will allow them to meet the required grade submission date of February 12, 2007. High school teachers should submit a supplemental contract to their principal upon completion of the work.
With the above changes, the student attendance year will end on Friday, June 22, 2007, and the last administrative essential one-half day for teachers is scheduled for Monday, June 25, 2007. As in the past, principals will have discretion in allowing teachers to complete the administrative essential half-day earlier than June 25, 2007.
Please note that with the above changes, June 20, 21 and 22 are all two hour early release days. This addition of a third 2 hour early release recognizes that many if not most teachers reported or attempted to report for duty on the first day of the closure due to the unavoidable timing of the cancellation notice.
Classified Training Scheduled January 31, 2007 is RESCHEDULED
Due to the snow days, the Classified January 31st all-day training has been rescheduled for August of this year. Classified staff will be notified of the new date(s) as soon as possible. Please stay tuned! |
