LATE WORK POLICY

1. LATE WORK:
Late work is only accepted if a student has an excused absence and the late work has met the Absence Policy.
2. ABSENCE POLICY: 24 hours for every day absent.
Students are responsible to know what was assigned and what tests were given.
They must make arrangements to get work in and take tests and quizzes within the required time constraints.
Long term projects like the Greek research paper and Poem Book are due upon return from absence.
After-school time is allowed for those students upon day of return.
3. Late Pass :
required correctly filled out for all work turned in late due to an absence.
4. NO GRADE ENTERED?
Means work was not turned in.
5. TESTS AND QUIZZES: if not student-arranged and taken within the absence pass window, there will be a blank.
6. MASTERY TESTS: Students receive a pre-determined amount of weeks to reach a pre-determined mastery level. The grade will remain blank until the mastery level has been acheived.
7. Progress Reports
are sent out mid-way in each quarter.

The following Late Work Policy is copied here from your parent and student-signed syllabus.

 Late Work Policy
for all classes Dr. Questad and Mrs. Schmidt teach

Late Work
No late work is accepted except for students on a 174, 504 or IEP contract stipulating a late work acceptance policy.

Absences
While students are not graded for attendance, many grades are related to in-class participation to show objective mastery and are difficult to make up. Students will be expected to make up all absences through accessing Dr. Questad's Web site when absent or staying after school upon return and completing work as required following make-up (below) policy.

Make-up for Excused Absences:
A correctly completed Late Pass must be stapled to each late assignment for Dr. Questad.

If a student is absent, please call the office with a request for missing work if hand-outs were not available on Mrs. Schmidt's or Dr. Questad's Web sites. Assignment clarification will also be available via email request: Beverly.Questad@vansd.org or Lisa.Schmidt@vansd.org. Work and tests missed due to absence(s)are due completed within 24 hours of return from a one-day absence, 48 from a 2-day, etc. unless otherwise specified (long projects are generally due when a student returns from absence).
