Parody Poem

1. Take a poem you like

2. Create a two column table

3. Type the poem you like on one side

4. Mimic the poem with another subject on the right side

Example:

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

 

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

THE METRO NOT TAKEN

Two roads converged at the yellow sign
And sorry I do not the Metro know
And be a punctual traveler, there I stood
And looked down the street as far as I could
To see the number 26
disappear in the undergrowth.

So I waited for the other just as fair
And having perhaps the better route
Since it went to 84th
And I was wanted there at 7:00.

I am telling this with a sigh,
Miles and miles of walking since,
I waited for the one that didn't come by
And that made a lot of difference
