Temptation Map

"Metaphorically, human life is an odyssey, a series of wanderings, even if, as with most of my pupils, the hero's path does not extend beyond one's neighborhood...The lure of the lotus, the seduction of the Sirens' song, the brutish realm of the Cyclopes...metaphors for the tests and ordeals youth confront almost daily" (Glasser 479g).

Goal: Identify with Odysseus, using his journey as an example for exploring and experiencing the meaning and goals of your own life.

You are a freshman at Skyview setting off on a journey in a boat with a crew of rowers (your friends). You are expected to graduate in June, 2005. Many things happen to try to tempt you from your 4-5 year goal. Draw the next four to five years as if you were on a journey through a sea with the distractions and temptations you drew on your Voyage Picture.
