Course overview

 &nbs= p;      World History is a one semester course.  It is required for graduation.  In this course, students will study the historical issues and events that affect the World today. By organizing time periods into themes of political, social and economic history students are better able= to process and synthesis the often complex and overlapping issues in the World= .

 

Units of study


Unit #1:  Enlightenment and Revolution (1707-1850)

Unit #2:  Industrialism and a New Global Age (1800-1914)

Unit #3:  World Wars and Revolutions (1910-1955)


Unit #4:  Case Studies on Contemporary issues (1945-Present)

Students are expected to:

q      = Turn in work on time.  (Late work i= s not accepted.)

q      = Be punctual. (In seat when bell rings.)

q      = Have regular attendance.

q      = Conduct themselves in a manner conducive to an educational environment.

q      = Create and maintain a non-threatening, inclusive environment in the classroom.

q      = Be in a seat unless you are on your way to another seat.

q      = Drink water from a sealable container only.  (No food/drinks)   &n= bsp;

q      = Dress in a manner that conforms to district and school dress policy.


q      = Make up any missed work or exams within the same amount of days as excused absen= ces.


q      = Make arrangements to get work in the event of an extended absence.   Before or during the absence.

q      = Read and refer to the Skyview Student Handbook for a= ny situation not addressed by these expectations.

q      = All electronic devices should be out of sight when the bell rings.  (Cell phones should be turned on s= ilent and be put completely away)
